During the first six days of the Beijing Summer Olympics, the sky was covered in haze. When I saw the sun, I thought it was the moon.
Six hours before the Opening Ceremony, we arrived at the subway station closest to Olympic Green. Security guards and volunteers directed us to the mandatory security points, which had not yet opened. Checks were in place for:
- Spectators With Bags;
- Spectators Without Bags; and
While long queues formed under the shade, we joined an empty queue in the sun. About one and a half hours later, we were among the first to enter.
